You can use a welder for fabricating parts and pieces for home automotive projects. The Miller TIG welder did good on the sections of carbon steel 4″ downpipe needing to wind around several obstacles. From there you can also break the exhaust into two 2″ Stainless Steel runs as to get around all the tight areas and articulating suspension.

This machine will never give a problem to you!
The only objection is the foot pedal wants to try and walk away from you so you need to mount it and the connection used for it is an RG-45 connector which is easy to fix if you have the proper crimp tools but really not made for a rugged environment, would much rather see a connector plug with strain relief.
TIG, Steel, Stainless and Aluminum, welding with Miller machines is an awesome experience. Go and use a different brand and you’ll see how nice and indestructible Miller is. Miller is the industry standard of welding machines.
Overall a highly recommended machine for hobbyist & large industrial usage with a good brand

It does work, and it works well!
First, download the real owner’s manual from Everlast’s site. The one in the box is actually fairly entertaining reading, but not overly helpful. Everything functions well. Consumables are not really widely available yet, but getting there. has some OEM tips and strikers Beautiful stable TIG arc.
The included water-cooled TIG torch, while serviceable, is just too cumbersome and heavy unless you are constantly welding at or above the 200 amp range. So much easier, they include the torch they do, but having an option to downgrade/sidegrade to a smaller torch when ordering would be nice. Everlast PowerPro 256S is more refined and brittle in its control.
No real drawbacks as of yet. AC settings for Aluminum are opposite from what most are used to. The newer pedal works well. The controls are well laid out, and make sense after you use it a few times. Everlast’s tech support is very good, quick to respond.
Swapping from air to Argon takes a minute, but quickly connects take that down to seconds. The two bolts that hold on the air regulator/filter are still too long and hit the transformer in the case when installed. Grab a couple of bolts about 5mm shorter, or throw some extra washers in there. The 60 amp Plasma Torch lights up and re-lights faster, cuts thicker slabs more evenly, but generally works about the same. Everlast’s forums are a bit slow as far as activity goes.

Best Bang for the Money!
So far you can weld 1/8″ aluminum sheet, aluminum rims, 20ga copper, and all thicknesses of mild steel(heaviest thus far was 3/16 flat bar). It’s performed admirably. I prefer having lots of knobs rather than having stuff buried in menus. You have to nearly purchase a $5000 Dynasty setup.
This was less than half the price and has almost twice the warranty duration. The torch remote and the pulse settings as opposed to the foot pedal as it’s much more maneuverable. Having learned on a very basic transformer style air-cooler machine, the pulse controls are upgradable.
Everlast powering 250EX can be used in different applications. You can weld aluminum fuel cells, turbo piping, MS and SS headers, small jobs for neighbors, etc. This TIG welder works awesome. Very stable arc. I have one issue with it about the foot pedal, once you get up in amperage its good, but low amperage its worst.
If I use the torch trigger instead I have no problem with low amps. It’s a great bang for the buck. The price has also gone down of this welder.
The 1/2 plate vertical up was just a test to see if it could handle it. It handled it like a champ.

Conclusion:
This is a great machine for a hobbyist or even a low production shop. The fact that it is 110 and 220v makes it extremely portable, and you’re not limited to using it in a certain area it will be at a lower amperage. I agree with the other reviews, if you are looking at a 900 dollar welder, go ahead and get this Lincoln Square Wave 200 TIG welder. Full warranty for 3 years, most likely you will need it.
There are a couple of cons. The pulse feature is limited to 20PPS. Usually, this is fine, but if you are really trying to control heat on thin metal, it would be nice to have more adjustability in the waveform, it’s currently locked at 50% and a higher PPS. As others mentioned, the HF start pulse is probably over 10amps, and on super thin sheet metal this might be problematic. It would be nice to have some adjustability here.
The arc is very steady and the foot pedal is really good. The torch is really nice, it’s a 17 style which is very comfortable to use. The setup is not very complicated & controls are easily operated while wearing gloves and really intuitive The quality of every component is very good.
You’ll be glad to spend a little more and got this Lincoln TIG 200. You can buy a tank of Argon, plugged it into 110 regular outlets, and laid a beautiful bead the first time. This is a great machine and I would recommend it for anyone that is doing a smaller projector that is just learning to weld. Through, all in all, this is a great machine.
